This course will introduce students to basic programming and problem solving strategies. Participants will develop, build, and program of robots! Participants will work hands-on in teams to design, build, program and document their progress. Topics may include motor control, gear ratios, torque, friction, sensors, timing, program loops, logic gates, decision-making, timing sequences, propulsion systems and binary number systems. This course will set participants up to continue in computer science and engineering courses.

Intro to Unicycling
The Unicycle class will explore all the different ways to enjoy the art of riding a unicycle. Beginners will learn how to mount and ride with wall assist and a granny stroller while experienced riders will learn how to idle and turn circles and do other tricks. At the end of the session we will go on a group ride around the school and possibly the neighborhood. We can even ride in the end-of-the-year talent show and throw candy to the crowd.

Are you fast? Are you slow? Doesn't matter as long as you go! We run and run and run and run. We build mental perseverance and get great conditioning for other sports!

What would you do if you got lost in the woods? Come join Ben from Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers to find out! Learn how to build a shelter, start a fire, collect water, forage for food, navigate in the wilderness and more. Lots of hands-on lessons, videos, and outdoor exploration make this a great opportunity to have fund with your friends and learn the real world skills you could use in a back county or survival situation.

Students will get help with homework while being challenged with math games, art and creative opportunities. Students will have the opportunity to be tutored as well as to be challenged in middle school math concepts.

Days: Monday or Tuesday
In this course, participants will experiment with writing in cursive, using calligraphy, creating grafitti, and exploring other types of letting. In addition to learning these styles, we will use them to create signs, posters, cards, and anything else participants can think of!
